About · Founder Story
From a single unit in Oyarifa to a refinery rising in Kyekyerew.

Founder
Mr. Philip Kwame Brobbey
Ghana imports a large share of its cooking oil while local oil palm potential remains underused. Mr. Brobbey founded Philbro Oil Enterprise in Oyarifa in 2009 to close that gap — first as a single processing unit, then as the Philfry and PB consumer brands, and now as a planned solar-powered refinery in Kyekyerew with a 20,000-plus smallholder farmer supply base.
The business operates with the discipline of an industrial manufacturer and the trust of a household brand — Ghanaian-owned, Ghanaian-staffed, and built for ECOWAS and AfCFTA markets.
Mission
To manufacture refined edible oil and everyday food essentials in Ghana, sourced from Ghanaian farmers and powered by renewable energy, that compete with imported brands on quality and price.
Vision
A solar-powered Ghanaian agro-industrial group serving West Africa — closing the import gap on cooking oil, creating rural prosperity, and building an export-ready Made-in-Ghana FMCG portfolio.
Core Values
What we keep non-negotiable.
Quality first
Every batch is refined and packed to a consistent specification. Trade and household buyers should not feel a difference between cartons.
Farmer partnership
Smallholder farmers are not suppliers of last resort. They are the foundation of the value chain — paid fairly, supported in the field, and bought from consistently.
Made in Ghana, built for Africa
Ghanaian ownership and Ghanaian production, designed to compete in ECOWAS and AfCFTA markets — not just at home.
Renewable by design
The new refinery is being built around a planned 1 MW solar system, lower-carbon production targets, and climate-smart industrial practice.
Industrial discipline
Premium consumer presentation backed by industrial rigour — engineering, food safety, traceability, and packaging integrity.
